Terry Fights Back 特里打回来了
It's been a tough month for John Terry.
The Chelsea captain has been the centre of a media feeding frenzy 媒体炒作热 following his alleged 被指控的 affair with the girlfriend of former teammate Wayne Bridge.
Terry subsequently lost the England captaincy 队长资格 and was even booed 被起哄 by England fans during a friendly against Egypt last week.
But yesterday he produced an inspired performance 作出了振奋的表现 to help Chelsea defeat Stoke City 2-0 in the FA Cup quarter-finals, scoring the winning goal in the 67th minute.
To celebrate he made a defiant gesture 不示弱的举动: he pointed to his captain's armband 袖标 as if to say 好像在说 "I'm still in charge here".
"The armband means a lot. Chelsea have been supportive 给与支持的. We wanted to show the fans what it meant to us," said Terry.
We have the best fans in the world. It's as simple as that.

The goal was also visibly 醒目可见的 celebrated by his wife Toni, who was in the stands in a show of public unity 在看台上向公众显示(两人)的团结一致.
But while he may have the Chelsea fans and even his wife on his side, winning over 把…争取过来 the England supporters might take a little longer.
Talking about his feelings when he was booed by his own fans after last week's England game against Egypt, Terry said:
"There were a few jeers 起哄声 but I can handle that. They are fully entitled to their opinion 有权持有他们的看法."
After the match England teammate Peter Crouch also stated his belief that Terry would pull through 挺过来.
He is a fantastic player and he seems to shrug anything off that's thrown at him.

"He is a fantastic player and he seems to shrug anything off that's thrown at him. He performed well again tonight in a good England performance."
To shrug something off means to be able to not be affected by a difficult problem and carry on performing as normal.
Perhaps Terry thrives in adversity 逆境出成就, as his good performances in this difficult time would suggest.
But with the World Cup only a few months away in June, Terry indicated he hoped England fans would give him their full support.
Uncharacteristically 不典型地(反常地) for him, he chose to go on a charm offensive 以个人魅力去争取攻击者 to win them over, saying:
"We have the best fans in the world, it's as simple as that."
