Hong Kong teenagers idolize Cantopop stars more than their own parents, according to a university survey. A list compiled by Hong Kong's City University of the most popular youth idols was dominated by singers, movie stars and other celebrities. Queen of Cantopop Kelly Chen topped the rankings, with heartthrob Nicholas Tse and Eason Chan in second and third places. Mothers and fathers ranked sixth and ninth,respectively. The University asked 833 respondents between 12 and 19 to name their idols during April and May 2001. "The choices are very monotonous. This reflects (that young people in Hong Kong) are romantic and idealistic rather than practical and realistic,"Professor Yue Xiaodong, who carried out the research, told reporters."A hundred years ago, the emperor would have definitely ranked top followed by one's father, mother and teacher,"he said.

　　Remarks：百年以前，“天地君亲师”几乎是惟一的选择；在这样的时代、这样“娱乐”的空气中，孩子们也没有多少选择了--除了追星。
