Hello. We have met before. I am in your school, especially in the halls and the lunchroom. I am in offices, at parties, and on the phone. I am everywhere. You do not like me because I am not nice, and I hurt people for fun. Yet, you find me interesting.

You can try to find me, but you will never succeed. I have no friends, no family, and no face. All I leave behind are ugly lies. Who am I?

I am gossip. In my long life, I have ruined everything I have touched. Nobody is safe from me. The best way to avoid me is to think before you speak. Is what you are saying about somebody true? Is it fair? If not, it is probably better to keep your mouth shut!

Wicked Words:

When you go camping, please do not leave behind any trash.

一般人会在街头巷尾听到流言蜚语(people hear gossip in every nook and corner of the town),或喜欢在茶余饭后议论八卦(people gossip over tea or at meals)。 不过,千万不要相信你听到的一切闲话(don’t believe all the gossip you hear),更不要议论他人的是非长短(don’t gossip about other people),避免成为一个长舌的人(don’t be a gossip)。

  find + Obj. (宾语) + O.C.

  Yet, you find me interesting.

  We found the teacher boring.
