Tammy and Jared are eating some birthday cake at work.

T: This cake isn't really up to scratch.

J: It tastes OK to me. Wasn't it funny seeing the birthday girl huffing and puffing with those trick candles!

T:Maybe it was all that spittle that turned me off the cake. Who was the joker behind that, anyway?

J: Someone whose birthday is also this month.

T:Really? The boss? And I thought she didn't have a sense of humor.

J: Actually, Cancers can be real cutups.

  T: I don't know --- that's not the impression I get. I always feel that if I goofed around, she'd reprimand me.

J: For typical Cancerians, there's a time and a place for everything. At work, business comes first. But luckily, Cancers also have a sensitive side.

T: So she does know that there are times when it's good to lighten up, then?

J: Of course. Why else would we have the impromptu birthday celebrations?

T: And the joke candles. ... Hey, what was that loud bang?

J: The boss just wentsintosher office and slammed the door behind her.

T: But we haven't finished celebrating yet. I wonder what's going on?

J: Maybe she heard you panning the cake. She was the one who baked it, you know!

Maybe it was all that spittle that turned me off the cake.

it be ... that ... All that spittle turned me off the cake.



e.g. It was this dress that cost me three thousand dollars.

e.g. It was yesterday when he was hit by the car.

e.g. It was that woman who stepped on my toes.
