　　本课您将学到：it’s time to do/for sth.句型，“婚姻词汇”

　　如果你认为美国人视婚姻为儿戏，那就大错特错了，其实，即使是现在，"I do."(我愿意。)对于美国人依然具有重大意义。

　　It all begins with engagement(订婚). Traditionally, a young man asks the father of his sweetheart for permission(许可) to marry her. If the father agrees, the man later proposes to(向……求婚) her. Today many couples also receive counseling(劝告) during engagement. This prepares them for the challenges(挑战) of married life.

　　At last it's time for the wedding. Although most weddings follow long-held traditions, there's still room for American individualism(个人主义). The couple may invite hundreds of people or just a few close friends.

　　At the wedding reception(宴会), the bride and groom greet their guests. Then they cut the wedding cake and feed each other a bite. Guests mingle(混合) while enjoying cake, punch(潘趣酒) and other treats. Later the bride throws her bouquet(花束) of flowers to asgroupsof single girls. Tradition says that the one who catches the bouquet will be the next to marry.

　　结婚是从订婚开始，(It all begins with engagement)在传统上，年轻人会请求他的女朋友的父亲允许他娶她，(asks the father of his sweetheart for permission to marry her)如果女方的父亲答应，之后方可向女方求婚。(the man later proposes to her)今天有许多订婚的男女在订婚期间接受咨询服务，(counseling)这是为了让他们有准备接受婚姻生活的挑战。(This prepares them for the challenges of married life)

　　在结婚宴会上，(wedding reception)新娘新郎向宾客问候.然后切结婚蛋糕并互相喂对方一口。(Then they cut the wedding cake and feed each other a bite)宾客们在享受蛋糕、饮料及其他的食物时就在一起交谈。之后新娘将捧花投向一群单身女孩，(the bride throws her bouquet of flowers to asgroupsof single girls)传统说接到捧花的女孩会成为下一位新娘。(that the one who catches the bouquet will be the next to marry)
