　　ANN's BIRTHDAY

　　安的生日

　　It was half past four. Everything was ready. All the food was on the table.

　　“There's no time!”laughed Mother.“Here are the twins.”

　　“Happy birthday!”said the twins, and gave her a big red box.

　　“What's in the box?”Ann thought. Was it a sweater?

　　“盒子里是什么呢?”安心想，会是毛衣吗?

　　But there was no time to think. All her other friends were now outside the door.

　　但她来不及想了。其余的朋友现在也全都到了门外。

　　“Happy birthday to you, Ann!”they said.

　　“生日快乐。”他们说。

　　“Thank you, everyone. Please come in,”said Ann.

　　“谢谢大家。请进来。”安说。

　　“Is everyone here?”asked Mother.

　　“人都到齐了吗?”母亲问。

　　“No. Where's Jim?”asked Ann.

　　“没有。吉姆呢?”安问。

　　“I'm here!”said Jim.“Here's your birthday present. I hope you like it.”

　　“我在这儿!”吉姆说，“这是送给你的礼物。希望你喜欢。”

　　Ann opened it. It was a CD.

　　安打开来看礼物：是一张CD唱片。

　　“Wow! What a nice present! I like it very much!”said Ann with a big smile.

　　“哇!多漂亮的礼物啊!我非常喜欢。”安笑容满面地说。

　重点·难点·考点及疑点注释

　　1Everything is ready.

　　ready,“准备好的”，是形容词，它可以指某事“已准备就绪”。例如：

　　It was September 1st, everything was ready.

　　那是九月一日，一切都准备就绪。

　　Breakfast is ready, Tom.汤姆，早餐好了。

　　ready与be动词搭配，后面可接介词短语for...。此时be动词可用get代替。例如：

　　Children are getting ready for the football match.

　　孩子们正在为足球赛做准备。

　　◆注意◆be ready to do意为“乐于做某事”，“愿意做某事”。例如：

　　He is ready to help others.他乐于助人。

　　2Ann felt very happy.

　　(1)felt是feel的过去式。feel是系动词，意为“感到”，“觉得”。后接形容词作表语。例如：

　　feel well感觉很好feel ill感到身体不舒服

　　feel full感到饱了feel hungry感到饿了

　　feel sorry感到抱歉

　　(2)英语系动词中除了feel外，还有be(是)，turn(变得)，look(看起来),seem(似乎，好像)，taste(尝起来)等等。

　　She looks beautiful.她看起来很漂亮。

　　The trees turn green when spring comes.

　　当春天来临的时候树木开始变绿了。

　　3There was no time to think.

　　(1)本句意为“没时间考虑了”，“来不及想了”。There's time to do sth.意为“有时间做某事”。

　　Don't worry! There's enough time to finish your writing.

　　不要着急!有足够的时间写完作文。

　　(2)no“不”，为形容词，后面接名词。

　　There were no factories, schools, shops and cinemas here fifty years ago.

　　五十年前，这里没有工厂、学校、商店和电影院。
