　　1Look at the clothes on Mrs Green's clothes line.

　　(1)clothes是衣服的总称，总是用复数形式。不能说“a clothes”,“two clothes”，而应说“a suit〔sjut〕of clothes”一套衣服，two suits of

　　clothes两套衣服。clothes前面也可以用物主代词或many,some,these,the等词来修饰。作主语时谓语动词用复数。例如：

　　I have some clothes.我有一些衣服。

　　My clothes are on the clothes line.我的衣服在晾衣绳上。

　　(2)on the line意为“在绳子上”。例如：

　　Your sweater is on the line.你的毛衣在晾衣绳上。

　　2What colour are Mr Green's trousers?格林先生的裤子是什么颜色的?

　　(1)trousers,shoes总是用复数形式，因此谓语动词也用复数。例如：

　　Her shoes are white.她的鞋是白色的。

　　(2)如果名词前有数量词a pair of或two pairs of修饰时，谓语动词的单复数形式一定要与量词的单复数保持一致。例如：

　　This pair of shoes is hers.这双鞋是她的。

　　Two pairs of shoes are on the floor.地板上有两双鞋子。

　　3the Green family格林一家

　　the Green family也可说成the Greens，其中定冠词the不可省略。

　　4It is light purple(dark brown).它是浅紫(深棕色)的。

　　light有“轻的，浅的”等意思。例如：

　　Light colours suit you best.你最适合穿浅色衣服。

　　dark有“暗色的，深色的”等意思。例如：
