　　I.Useful Expressions

　　1. -What colour are Mary's eyes / What's the colour of Mary's eyes?玛丽的眼睛是什么颜色的？

　　-They are blue.蓝色的。

　　2. -What does Johnson look like?约翰逊长什么样？

　　-He's thin and tall. He has brown hair, blue eyes and wears a pair of glasses.他又高又瘦，棕色的头发，蓝色的眼睛，戴一副眼镜。

　　3.-I haven't seen Helen for years. What has happened to her?我好几年没看到海伦了。她怎么样了？

　　-She's grown into a very beautiful young lady.她已经长成一个漂亮的大姑娘了。

　　4. -Is the girl in black your sister?穿着黑衣服的女孩是你的妹妹吗？

　　-No. She doesn't like black.不是。她不喜欢黑色。

　　5. -Which one do you mean?你指的是哪一位？

　　-The man in a business suit.穿西装的那个男的。

　　6. -Can you recognize Mr. Wang in the crowd?你能在人群中认出王老师吗？

　　-Yes, he is the tallest.能，他最高。

　　7. -Here's the picture of my family.这是我的全家照。

　　-Is the woman wearing glasses your mother?戴眼镜的那位是你的母亲吗？

　　8. -May I ask who is the manager?请问谁是经理？

　　-The one reading the newspaper.看报的那位。

　　9.-Do you know who that tall student is?你知道那个高个子学生是谁吗？

　　-Of course. He is called Peter, a student from America.当然知道。他是位来自美国的学生，叫彼得。

　　10. -Is his father a doctor?他的父亲是医生吗？

　　-No, he isn't. He is a famous teacher in our city.不是的。他是我市一位有名的教师。

　　11.-Judging from his look, he's a very shy man.从他的外表来看，他是个很腼腆的人。

　　-In fact, he is.事实上，他就是这样的人。

　　12. -The woman in red is my aunt. She's a doctor.穿红衣服的那个女的是我的阿姨。她是位医生。

　　-She looks pretty and must be kind and careful.她真漂亮，一定是个善良细心的人。

　　13. -I think your father is very tall.我想你爸爸个子很高。

　　-Yes, around five feet 8 inches.是的，约5尺8英寸。

　　14.-I have never seen your father. Can you describe him to me?我从没见过你的父亲。你能给我描述一下吗？

　　-Yes. He is tall and fat, with a big nose and is very humorous.好的。他又高又胖，大鼻子，人很幽默。

　　-She is a kind woman with rich teaching experience, but strict with us.她是位好心且有丰富教学经验的人，但对我们要求很严格。

　　II.Cultural Information

　　In identifying people, it is considered to be bad manners to point at someone with a finger, which will make the person pointed at feel uncomfortable. We can tell others by describing the person's appearance(外貌), clothes, characters, interests, hobbies and so on. But be sure not to talk about their private affairs(私事).
