在莫多克的课堂上，他能善待每个学生的错误，营造了一个和谐的课堂气氛。增强了学习自信心。随着学生英语听力、口语水平的逐步提高。学生的语言焦虑逐渐得到克服，使学生在良好语言环境中获得成功的体验。

　　二、学习教法，灵活运用。提高英语教学质量

　　教师作为整个教学过程中的实施者和组织者，对各种教学法应有所了解。教师的主要任务是推进课堂教学中所有学生之间，学生与各种教学之间的交流，使学生在良好的课堂学习环境中扮演独立角色。为了给学生创造良好的语言环境，除了上好听力和课文的讲解，莫多克听了高一下册Lesson 78 和Lesson 79，我平时怎么讲对话课文就怎么讲，没做任何改变，听完之后，我和莫多克交换了意见，他给我提出了很好的教学建议，他这样写到：

　　1. I suggest the use of a simple rubberstamp as demostrate the printing process would have been a good idea. I believe we should always use the real thing.

　　2. When students speak to one another who corrects the speech errors. I don't know how to solve the problem in a large class but it remains a big problem.

　　3. When discussing the working of paper. I would have introduced the idea of recycling, too.

　　4. I would prefer to do one example of each exercises on the blackboard with all students before teaching them to work.

　　5. As a general rule I believe the more the English classes are taught in English, the better the students' English develops.

　　6. In general, I enjoyed the lesson. I enjoyed the enthusiasm of the class and I enjoyed the chance to see how a good experienced teacher approaches the teaching of English.

　　莫多克先生除了给我们提出了一些很好的建议外。还肯定了我校的英语教学。他用了approach这个词。就是说我校的教学很接近他们的教学。这一点是很难得的。

　　另外，我们又进行了另一种尝试。请莫多克给学生讲我国英语教材的对话和课文。在他的课堂上根本听不到汉语，这样给学生提供了良好的语言环境，迫使学生认真听，用英语去思维。这样就培养了学生的听、说等综合能力，他首先以where am I?这个游戏开课，创设了一个较轻松愉快的课堂气势，稳定了学生情绪，使课堂教学达到了最佳效果。

　　这一点是我们英语教师难以达到的目标。我们有很多英语教师，在课堂上满课堂的汉语，学生一不明白就想多用汉语解释，结果就想多用汉语讲，结果造成了学生用汉语去思维英语，造成了恶性循环，有的学生在写书面表达时，写今天上午是"Today morning"，这就是Chinglish，我在随笔中这样写到：

　　He began his lesson with a wonderful game. I think it is a better way to start a lesson. It makes the students interested in the lesson. He pointed at a map of Britain and the students answered the name of each country. He asked the students to underline the important sentences. What he had done makes the students train their ability of reading, listening and understanding.

　　总之，好的课堂学习环境，需要我们教师在课堂教学过程中去创造，所谓良好的语言环境就是要求英语教师在英语课堂上尽量多说英语，少说汉语，就一定能创造出良好的语言环境，提高英语教学水平和教学质量。
