　　N　oh, lots, lots of things.

　　B　how—when did this start?

　　N　that’s a long time.

　　B　you--are you saying that he was using some kind of drug all those years?

　　N　oh, yes.

　　B　what’s that?

　　N　that’s what he told me.

　　B　and why would he lie about it?

　　N　I don’t know.

　　B　is he a good lawyer? 『他是个不错的律师么？』

　　N　yeah, yes, he was, he is a very good lawyer.

　　B　but it’s too late.

　　N　yes. You cant put him in a hospital, you cant tell him to get treatment--- any kind --- physical, mental, whatever.

　　B　you have your instinct『本能』?

　　N　you bet『你说的对』, and trust my instinct right away. The problem is I don’t know, you know? I really don’t know.

　　B　where did he work?

　　N　he went to work for New York Lawyer office『纽约律师事务所』.

　　B　and how did you find out at that point that he had a problem『你是怎么发现他有问题(吸毒)的』? How did you find out?

　　N　he was leaving in the morning, and one day, he left his suitcase『手提箱』 at my house, and I raced out『冲出』 of the house and went out to try to find him.

　　B　and then…

　　N　I walked all over the office looking for him, to find out where he was, which office he was in, couldn’t find him, and I knew then.

　　B　you knew something was wrong.

　　N　you bet, I knew something was wrong. He wasn’t at the office, he’d been lying『撒谎』.

　　B　that was not like him『这跟他之前不一样』?

　　N　he’d been lying.

　　B　oh. He’d been lying?

　　N　well, obviously『很明显』.

　　B　about little things?

　　N　no, no. he’d been lying about going to office『他一直在骗我说去办公室了』, and I realized that right away…
