China will carry out large-scale renovations and expansion on the tomb compound of Genghis Khan, the creator and leader of the Mongol empire in the 13th Century. The tomb of the Mongolian emperor is located in Ordos City in the western Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and takes up an area of 0.5 square kilometers. A large-scale expansion and renovation plan for the tomb area has been submitted to the State Cultural Relics Bureau to be reviewed.
