　　Globalization and Me

　　Good afternoon everyone,

　　The title of my speech is Globalization and Me.

　　In Chinese, China proudly means a country in the center of the world. But, for far too long we stayed arrogant in isolation,

　　However, in this globalization era, we need to be connected to the world. But, how?

　　The 2008 Olympic Games will serve as a bridge.

　　To make my contribution to the buildings of the bridge, I’d like to be a bilingual journalist, bringing to the world the exciting moments in the Games, opening the window of communication, which will certainly shorten the distance between China and the world.

　　Yes, it took millions of years for the landmasses to drift apart, but the 2008 Olympic Games will put them back again. Beijing will do it for the world, and I’ll do my bit for Beijing.

　　Globalization will be finally achieved.

　　大家下午好。

　　今天，我演讲的主题是“全球化”与我。

　　在中文里，“中国”自豪地意味着“世界中心的国家”。但是，长期以来，中国处于孤立与自负中。

　　可是，在这个“全球化”的时代里，我们必须与世界接轨，那么我们应该怎么做呢？

　　在奥运会期间，我希望做一名双语记者，以此来支持这座“桥梁”。呈现比赛间的精彩时刻，打开交流的窗口，势必拉近中国与世界的距离。

　　是的，过了几百万年，大陆才漂移成现在的模样，但是2008北京奥运会将会把世界聚在一起。北京将担此重任，我将为北京尽自己的力量。

　　“全球化”终将被实现。
