　　比赛演讲稿

　　Generation gap

　　I think most of you have heard of the American soap opera “friends”, haven’t you? To tell you the truth, I can’t do without “friends”. But believe it or not, it is this “friends” that set me on fire!

　　One day I was so devoted to it that I turned a deaf ear to my mum’s calling. What was worse, her dear daughter was then giggling at Ross and Joey, two men, kissing lip to lip on the screen. She was so mad at me that she turned off the TV right in front of me. At that moment, I was so dumfounded that my only reaction was to slam the door and rush out.

　　Unexpectedly, I received a message from mum when I was wandering in the street, saying, “Dear daughter, don’t be mad at me. No matter what delusions I drove you to, there is truth at the heart of it.”

　　Then we found a proper time, sat together, and exchanged our opinions on the problem. I told mum that the kiss was merely something that Ross did as a friend to help Joey as an actor to fulfill his performance and mum started to believe it. We’ve promised each other not to conceal or complain, but to control, consider, and communicate. We promised each other that no matter how much our attitudes and perspectives may differ, we will calm down, slow down, and get down to the problem in harmony. Now we are getting closer to each other again, because both mum and I know that where there’s communication, there’s the solution.

　　我想在座的大多数人都听说过美国情景喜剧 “老友记”, 不是吗? 说实话, 我的生活中不能没有 “老友记”。可是不论您相信与否, 确是这 “老友记”给我惹来了麻烦!

　　一天, 我看“老友记”正入神以至于我没有听见妈妈在叫我. 更糟糕的是, 她亲爱的女儿那时看着Ross and Joey, 两个男人,在屏幕前接吻, 咯咯地笑了. 妈妈对此十分恼火, 当着我的面, 一下子关上了电视. 那时, 我已出离惊讶和恼怒, 我唯一的反映就是摔门而去.

　　意想不到的是, 我在大街上 “流浪” 之时, 妈妈给我发来了短信, 写道: “亲爱的女儿, 不要生我的气. 无论我给了你怎样的错觉, 我的本意是好的.”

　　那之后, 我们找了一个恰当的时机, 坐在一起, 在这个问题上交流了彼此的意见. 我告诉妈妈, 接吻的事只是Ross作为一个朋友, 帮助身为演员的Joey来排练他的表演, 妈妈渐渐地接受了它. 我们彼此承诺, 不去掩饰, 不去抱怨, 而去控制, 考虑, 和交流. 我们彼此承诺, 不论我们的态度和视角有多大差距, 我们都要冷静下来, 缓解下来, 并在和谐中解决问题. 现在我们彼此之间更融洽了, 因为我和妈妈都深知, 哪里有交流, 哪里就有和解.
