科林斯公开承认了自己的同性恋身份

　　北京时间4月30日，现年34岁的NBA老将杰森-科林斯在北美体育史上书写了自己的名字。他在最新的《体育画报》中表示自己是同性恋。这样他也成为了北美体育史上第一个公布自己同性恋身份的现役职业运动员。本赛季，科林斯曾效力于波士顿凯尔特人和华盛顿奇才，目前属于自由球员。

　　“我是一名34岁的NBA中锋，我是黑人，同时也是一个同性恋者。”科林斯在文章的第一句话就这样写道。

　　NBA center Jason Collins has admitted he's a gay, the first active male professional athletes in American major leagues to reveal he is a gay.

　　Collins, a 34-year-old free agent, was the post figure of the newly Sports Illustrated issued on the website on Monday, wrote a first-person account with Franz Lidz。

　　Collins said, "I'm a 34-year-old NBA center. I'm black and I'm gay. I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the coversation."

　　Collins played six teams in his 12 NBA seasons, recently spending his season with the Boston Celtics。

　　NBA Commissioner David Stern showed his support to Collins for his courage and leadership of his admission。

　　Stern said Jason and his twin brother Jarron "have been exemplary members of the NBA family"。

　　"Jason has been a widely respected player and teammate throughout his career and we are proud he has assumed the leadership mantle on this very important issue," Stern said。
