Students at a high school have been assigned to playing online games to finish their chemistry homework during winter break in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, according to website Cqnews.net on Monday.
The game, named Gas Station of Chemistry, was initiated and developed by 16 chemistry teachers at the Chongqing Tsinghua High School. The development process began in 2012.
Head of the team Wen Jiming said the game covers all basic knowledge points in Chemistry and it has been made available to the public since 2014.
There is a total of 35 passes of the game to be braved, with increasing levels of difficulty.
Yin Yuanyuan, now a college freshman, used to study at the high school. She said she played the game during her winter break.
She added that the easy way to the game is to keep the basics of chemistry in mind.
Liao Qi, a Professor of Education at Southwest University, believes that learning by playing games help students study more efficiently and therefore should be encouraged.
