A mother and daughter team are toasting their incredible success at one of the world’s top beauty pageants。

Sarah Louise Pritchard， 41， and Ella Ravenscroft， 18， were crowned Mrs Galaxy UK and Miss Teen Galaxy England earlier this year after entering the competition together for the first time。

Their win secured them a place at the 2017 Galaxy International pageant in Orlando， Florida， where they joined dozens of other beauty queens from across the world in the race for the global crown。

The pair， from Salford， flew out to the States last week as part of an 11-strong ’Team UK’ which was made up of winners from national competitions。

Sarah， who runs her own beauty salon， wowed judges who placed her first in every stage of competition， which saw her bag the title of Mrs Galaxy International 2017。

Ella was named fourth runner-up in the Miss Teen Galaxy competition。

Sarah， who is a size 16， was the first plus-sized contestant to scoop the international crown and hopes it sends a message to women that you don’t have to be skinny to be attractive。
莎拉的衣服号码是16号，并不是很苗条，她摘得桂冠也向女性们传递着一条“美丽指南”——不需要非常苗条，也可以集万千瞩目于一身。
She said： ’Me and my husband Martin have six children between us， four of them girls， and I was constantly hearing them go on about their weight and how they looked。
她说：“我和我丈夫马丁有六个孩子，其中四个都是女孩，我总是听到她们抱怨自己的身材和外表。”
I realised that me dieting all the time and trying to lose weight wasn’t sending them the right message， they are all so beautiful and I wanted to show them this。
“我意识到，我总是在节食减肥，这样就给她们传递了错误的信号。她们很美，而我想让她们知道这一点。”
I decided on a whim to enter the competition and the next day I thought， “God， what have I done！”’
“我心血来潮，决定去参加选美比赛。第二天我就想：天哪，我都干了啥！”
It was really frightening the first time for Mrs Galaxy UK， I cried to my husband the night before， but when I got up there and did it and won I was so proud of myself。’
“第一次参加英国银河女士的比赛其实挺害怕的，我在前一晚跟我丈夫哭诉，但是等我到那里并且成功了之后，我挺为我自己骄傲的。”
Sarah thought she would struggle up against women who were size 8-10 in a bikini shoot but went on to score highly with the judges。
莎拉觉得，她的对手是那些衣服号码在8-10号之间、穿着比基尼的女人们，往往能在裁判那里得到高分。
She added： ’I won every category and was so humbled that a bigger and curvier girl had achieved this， I thought it was brilliant that it was accepted you don’t have to be the stereotypical beauty queen。’
她补充说：“我这样一个比较胖的女人在每一类比赛里都胜出了，我觉得这是很棒的，你不用成为别人眼里所谓‘选美皇后’应该有的样子。”
Despite missing out on the top prize， Ella， who was snapped up last year by Manchester’s Nemesis modelling agency and works with her mother， is set to fly back to the States in November to train with top beauticians。
虽然女儿艾拉此次在美国参加比赛没有摘得桂冠，但已于去年被一家造型机构选中和母亲一起工作，将于今年11月再次飞赴美国，接受顶级美容师的培训。
