2006年12月新四级考试听力部分分析

　　这次四级考试的听力短对话部分继承了以往考试的总体特征：

　　1、建议句型的考察：以考试第11题为例：

　　11.M: Christmas is round the corner and I’m looking for a gift for my girlfriend. Any suggestions?

　　W: Well, you have to tell me something about your girlfriend first. Also, what’s your budget?

　　Q: What does the woman want the man to do?

　　考察女生对男生的建议特色。原文中suggestions一词为建议的直白表达，四个选项均以动词词组形式出现，也是建议的典型特色之一。再者，本题也体现了男生紧张，女生从容理智应试特色。

　　2、转折考点：以考试第12、13题为例：

　　12.M: What would you like for dessert? I think I’ll have apple pie and ice cream.

　　W: The chocolate cake looks great. But I have to watch my weight, you go ahead and get yours.

　　Q: What will the woman most probably do?

　　前段说到巧克力

　　13.W: Having visited so many countries, you must be able to speak several different languages!

　　M: I wish I could. But Japanese and, of course English are the only languages I can speak.

　　Q: What do we learn from the conversation?

　　女人根据男人去过许多国家推测男人会多国语言，男人在回答I wish I could.后以but转变基调，说明其实不会那么多语言。在but考点出现的同时也体现了在四级考试中男人不够强悍的特色。

　　3、原因考点：以考试第18题为例：

　　18.M: The taxi driver must have been speeding.

　　W: Well, not really! He crashed into the tree because he was trying not to hit a box that had fallen off the truck ahead of him.

　　Q: What do we learn about the taxi driver?

　　撞车原因的考察。

　　4、时间先后顺序：以考试第14题为例：

　　14.M: Prof. Smith asked me to go to his office after class. So it is impossible for me to make it to the bar at 10：00.

　　W: Then it seems we’ll have to meet an hour later at the library.

　　Q: What will the man do first after class?

　　同样以动词词组为选项体现动作先后顺序的特色，这与95年6月第二题比来几乎没有什么差别，所以说即使是新的考题，依然贯穿了老的技巧和出题思路。

　　长对话考得中规中矩

　　19题What’s the woman’s main purpose of visiting Quebec?和22题What do we learn from the conversation about Ms. Rowling’s first book?都考在了文章第一回合。尤其19题还是个原因考点的体现，考察女人去Quebec的原因所在。

　　20题What does the man advise the woman to do before the trip?明显的对建议的考察。不过值得注意的是其答案中再次使用了生僻的表达方式——brush up一词来表达突击加强的意思。

　　21题What does the man say about Quebec City?是很有意思的一题，出题位置在文章末2回合中。最为正规的解题方式应该是通过预读题目后知道是对某城市的描述，然后去跟踪原文中相应的问题。但本题却让笔者想起05年6月的一道短对话题，试比较两者会发现有惊人的相似点：

　　本次考试中：

　　M: It’s a beautiful city, very old. Many old buildings have been nicely restored. Some of them were built in the 17th and 18th centuries. You’ll love it there.

　　05年6月考试中：

　　W: Wow, I do like this campus. All the big trees, the green lawns, and the old buildings with tall columns. It’s really beautiful.

　　M: It sure is. The architecture of these buildings is in the Greek style. It was popular in the 18th century here.

　　两者都是进行了先总起，后举例的方式，而且都很大程度上提及了建筑风格的问题，由此足以说明我们考试中谈论的内容正日趋深奥与细化。不过考点倒都简单，这次答案直接指向beautiful，而50年6月指向campus。

　　23题Why does Ms. Rowling consider herself very luck?明显得体现了原因考点的特色，考察了Ms. Rowling自认为幸运的主要原因。

　　24题What dictates Ms. Rowling’s writing?有一定难度，因为引入了dictate一词来代替常用的influence，所以导致考生可能听不懂题目。其实答案却非常简单，通过观察发现是名词词组题，按上课时提及的反复重复的考点会发现idea这个单词能在大脑中留下非常深刻的印象，因为被读过至少4次。

　　25题According to Ms. Rowling, where did she get the ideas for the Harry Potter books?原文中则有精确的对应，即：M: Where did the ideas for the Harry Potter books come from?所以该题完全考察考生预读的能力水平。

　　唯一值得一提的是，本次考试第二篇长对话直接取自Amazon对Rowling的采访(www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=6230)，仅对其进行了节选和小幅改动来适应四级的考试要求。这也是考试中第一次以采访的形式出现长对话，这与雅思考试中有些情节非常相似，可以说四、六级考试正在向雅思考试靠拢，也更能体现学生真实水平，同时也更国际化。

　　段子题体裁保留说明议论文，取材文化偏向依然严重，技巧基本保持不变

　　1、答案依旧出在文章首、末3句处：

　　第28、29、32、35均出于文章首、末三句处，不过有趣的是这次考试末三句比首三句出题频率要更高。

　　2、原因、转折、建议考点的把握：

　　29、34题的转折考点、33题原因考点依然扮演重要角色。

　　3、本次考试常识扮演主要角色：

　　对于本次考试的27、31、33、34、35都可以用科学常识推得答案。

　　4、最高级的表达：

　　虽然不多，但依然是说明议论问特色的表现，所以第31题也具备了该提示信息的帮助。

　　其实上过新东方听力课的同学不难发现第二篇文章中的主人公，P.P.第一次讲座遭遇和上课所提到的那个乞丐第一次拉小提琴走调有着一样的生理反应——恐惧，毕竟是第一次嘛。

　　无独有偶，听写中的单词particular也正与新东方的《新题型》一书中第一个TEST第一题所填词一样，这也证明了新东方猜题的准确性和对题目本身研究的透彻性。

　　听写与06年6月考试难度持平，单词依旧简单，句子依旧不长：

　　此次听写的8个单词natural usage exception particular reference essays colleagues personal都不是什么难词，即使在听力原文中也时常可以见到。至于句子部分：

　　44. What we may find interesting is that it usually takes more words to be polite.

　　45. But to a stranger, I probably would say, “Would you mind closing the door?”

　　46. There are bound to be some words and phrases that belong in formal language and others that are informal.

　　长度分别为15，14和19，除最后一句稍微拗口外，其余应该都不难写出，尤其是用词如此简单的情况下。

　　总体而言，本次听力难度适中，词汇词组难度加大但并没对理解句子本身造成太大的障碍。选材和读音都比较到位，从而体现了四级考试正日趋标准化、公正化和全球化的特色。
