After a four-day journey he 27 the water to the old man who took a deep drink, 28 and thanked his student for the sweet water. The young man returned to his village with a 29 heart。
Later, the teacher let another student 30 the water. He spat it out, saying it was awful. It 31 had become stale (不新鲜的) because of the old 32 container。
The student challenged his teacher: "Master, the water tastes very unpleasant. Why did you 33 to like it?"
The teacher 34 , "You 35 tasted the water. I tasted the gift. The water was simply the container 36 an act of love and kindness and nothing could be 37 ."
I think we understand this lesson best when we receive 38 gifts of love from young children. Whether it's leaf plate or a macaroni (通心粉) necklace, the natural and proper 39 is appreciation and expressed 40 because we love the idea 41 the gift。
Gratitude doesn't always come 42 . Unfortunately, most children and many adults only value the thing given 43 the feeling embodied(体现)in it. We should remind ourselves and 44 our children about the beauty and purity of feelings and expressions of gratitude. After all, gifts from the heart are really gifts of 45 。
