2019考研英语二 真题翻译深度解析

　　2019考研英语落下帷幕，今年英二考题的翻译部分难度与往年相比趋于稳定，跟以往真题难度相似。下面笔者就英二翻译进行深度解析。

　　英二的翻译选自James Wight写的The Real James Herriot： A Memoir of My Father一文，是对主人公吉米·哈利的简介。

　　段落的第一句It is easy to underestimate English writer James Herriot。没有难度，考察的语法点为不定式做真正主语。第二句He had such a pleasant， readable style that one might think that anyone could imitate it。是个复合句，主句简单，难点在于定语从句的翻译，显然，这个定从修饰的先行词前已有两个形容词修饰语，所以不管定从长短，在翻译时，定从都需要单独成句。这个在我们的基础课讲，在暑假课在冲刺课都反复讲过。第三句：How many times have I heard people say是个简单的倒装句，用来强调语气。

　　整个段落中相对较难的就是最后两句。James Herriot， contrary to popular opinion， did not find it easy in his early days of， as he put it， “having a go at the writing game”。 这句话的主干为：James Herriot did not find it easy in his early days of “having a go at the writing game”。 contrary to popular opinion更准确来说，是形容词短语做比较状语，也可理解为插入语，比较状语部分在翻译时前置即可。这句话中还有个短语have a go是个考点，但这个我们之前在基础语法的第二次课都讲过，海文的学员肯定非常熟悉，have a go=have a try，“尝试”的意思。最后一句While he obviously had an abundance of natural talent， the final， polished work that he gave to the world was the result of years of practicing， re-writing and reading。中覆盖了两大语法考点：让步状语从句和定语从句，主干部分为主系表结构：the final， polished work was the result。在翻译时，注意让步状从和定从的翻译技巧即可

　　简言之，2018年的翻译不管在话题上还是在语言上都没什么大的难点。只要把我们在基础课堂中讲到的语法知识点吃透，暑假冲刺课和点题班给大家反复强调的翻译技巧掌握，相信今年一定会考出令自己满意的成绩。
