　　Before you start reading, ask yourself why are you reading thisbook. Most people read for two main reasons – pleasure orknowledge。

　　Being specific and clear about your reading purpose not onlyhelps you to eliminate books that you don't need to read. It alsoreminds you why reading the book is important to you as you arereading it. This motivates you to keep reading and complete thebook faster。

　　清楚自己的阅读目标不仅能帮你排除你不需要读的书，也能在你阅读的时候提醒你阅读这本书的重要性。这种动机能让你一直阅读，并且能更快速地读完。

　　2. Read Only What You Are Attractedto

　　Whether you are reading fiction or nonfiction, it's important toenjoy what you read. Your friends may recommend books that theylove, but those books might not necessarily be the ones youenjoy。

　　3. Give up Books That You Don'tEnjoy
