Boat和 ship虽然都表示“船”，但却是不同类型的船。
1、Boat
表示“小型船只”，例如小艇，小木船或者其他需要用桨划行的船。也用于一些特定的谚语中。
The fishing boat is under the bridge。
那条渔船在桥底下。
We row on a boat with five people。
我们的赛艇坐着五个人。
He burned his boat（固定用法）。
他破釜沉舟。
2、Ship
意为“船”“舰”，一般表示较大型的船只，一般不需要桨来推进，如轮船、汽船、大型帆船等。
The ship is loaded with 50 tons of goods。
这艘货船装了50吨的货物。
A ship sailed from New York to San Francisco。
一艘船从纽约开到了旧金山。
