　　A Brief History of World Commercial Fishing

　　This picture shows a drastic change in the world's commercial fishing. At the beginning of the 20th century, human beings possessed abundant marine resources, as we can see in the upper half of the picture. However, the lower half of the picture shows that nearly a century later, too many ships are chasing too few fish. The fish supplies have almost been exhausted by overfishing.

　　Judging from the picture, we can see that the drawer's intention is very clear:within about 100 years, humans have stripped the sea of her generous offerings. If we dont put an end to the trend, then the fish in the ocean could become extinct species in the foreseeable future.

　　There are several ways to set off the harmful effects. First, we must bring world population under a reasonable control, as overfishing is largely due to the need to fill the additional mouths. Second, every year in the fish's mating season, a“grace period”should be enforced during which the fish are allowed to reproduce themselves. Third, stricter laws should be implemented. And fishermen must not use tightly meshed nets to capture fish that have not yet reached maturity. Only when these above-mentioned measures are putsintospractice can we save the fish from disappearing completely.(211 words)
