日常职责

　　Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance accounts, by hand or by computer

　　Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balances of books, maintain general ledgers, and prepare financial statements

　　Prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax, and other bills

　　Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents

　　Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services

　　Prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports

　　You must have a high school diploma.

　　You must finish a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field or two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program (such as Chartered Accounting or Certified General Accounting), or a combination of courses in accounting or bookkeeping plus several years' experience as a financial or accounting clerk.

　　With additional training, you may move up the ranks to become an accountant.

　　Many recent entrants have a community college diploma.
