perk vi. 振作起来(尤指病后或曾消沉)；昂起(头)；n. 额外收入

　　【例】She seemed kind of tired, but she perked up when Helen came over.

　　perjury n 伪证；假誓 = forswear

　　【记】per(表面)＋jure(发誓)→发假誓

　　【例】When several witnesses appeared to challenge his story, he was indicted for perjury.

　　perish v (在暴力下或以突然的方式)死；渐渐消失

　　【记】pe破，rish读：瑞士-瑞士是生活的地方，但破瑞士就不一样了，是死人的地方。【参】perishable(adj 容易腐烂的)；perishing(adj 冻死人的；可憎的)

　　【例】Thousands of people perished in the earthquake. 那次

　　periphery n 外围；不重要的部分

　　【记】peri周围

　　【例】The ideas are also expressed by minor poets on the periphery of the movement. 该运动外围一些不大出名的诗人也表达了这些观点.

　　peripheral adj 不重要的，外围的；辅助的 = auxiliary

　　perceptive adj.有理解的 = insightful

　　【记】per表面+cept拿+ive = 表面能拿住-感觉到的

　　【例】The most perceptive of the three, she was the first to realize the potential danger of their situation. 她在他们三人中最敏感, 首先意识到他们处境的潜在危险.

　　perception n 感觉；洞察力 = insight
