Goalkeeper turns goalscorer 守门员变射门员

A keeper's hands
Will Robinson's freak goal affect England selection?
The Tottenham and England goalkeeper 守门员, Paul Robinson, turned goalscorer 射门队员in this week's Premiership match against Watford. Robinson’s free kick travelled 80 yards before bouncing over the head of Watford's goalie, Ben Foster, straight into his net.

The game ended 3-1 to Spurs and it was just the kind of bad luck Watford could have done without (这是虚拟语气)多此一举的;最不需要的. They're bottom of the Premiership table 排名榜末尾 and will be relegated unless they start winning games soon.

Freak goal
I've never seen anything like that before to be honest, but it's a freak goal and Ben Foster will bounce back and fulfil his potential as one of the best keepers in England.

Adrian Boothroyd

Watford's manager, Adrian Boothroyd, described the goal as a "freak" 反常的. It means it was very unusual and unexpected. He added that his goalkeeper, Ben Foster, would "bounce back" 东山再起 and "fulfil his potential" 大显身手 as one of the best keepers in England.

In other words, he thinks he'll recover from the disappointment of letting in such a goal. He also believes Foster is capable of becoming a top player.

Foster is already England's second choice goalie. The current number 1 and scorer of the goal, Paul Robinson, knows exactly how Foster feels. He was the victim of a freak goal in a recent international match.

Not a nice feeling
I will try not to mention it. I know what it's like and it's not nice. It was a bit of a freak. If it goes wide I would have probably got a telling-off from the strikers.

Paul Robinson

He said it was "not nice", admitted the goal was a freak and said if he hadn't scored, he would have "got a telling off" 受到职责 from his strikers 前锋. It means they would have criticised him for not passing the ball to them.
