　　课文内容

　　Kent Clark used to smile a lot. Then one day, he did not smile or talk very much. His mother noticed this and asked Kent about it. He said something was wrong with his teeth. His mother took him to see a dentist (牙医).

　　The dentist examined Kent’s teeth. He told Kent the spaces between some of his teeth were too wide. The dentist decided that Kent should wear braces (牙齿矫正器).“Braces!”Kent shouted.“What will my friends think?”

　　The dentist said it would take about two or three years to fix Kent’s teeth. He also told Kent not to worry if people at school laugh at him. The dentist said,“Just tell them you’ll have not only beautiful teeth, but also a perfect smile.”
