　　Definition定义：

　　n. anxiety or concern for someone’s welfare.焦虑；关怀

　　Examples例：

　　1. He shook his head with great solicitude.他焦虑得直摇头。

　　2. Her sudden departure left him with solicitude.她的突然离去，让他焦急万分。

　　solicitude当焦虑、关心解时，是比较正式的用语。另外表示焦虑、关心、担忧的也比较正式的词汇如anxiety，但这个词通常是因为对过去或未来发生的事情没有把握、不知究竟发生了什么或将要发生什么而产生的忧虑，例：

　　He felt great anxiety when the policeman could only tell him that his daughter was involved in an accident, but without details.警察说他的女儿卷进了一桩车祸，但没能跟他讲细节，他听了以后很焦虑。

　　而通常的表示焦虑的词汇有：care, concern, worry等。

　　Care是指心里很关注，concern是指情感上比较关心，而worry则是一般性的关心，也就是担心的意思。此外，harassment是指债务等原因使人焦虑，而annoyance则是指烦恼或讨厌的事情，让人心情不得安宁。
