RO: It was beautifully shot on the street with the wind, and I loved it. I wished I had seen it before you were on, because you were on my show-sometimes I didn't get to see the movie.

　　RG: There's not enough time.

　　RO: Well, it's impossible. I mean, you can try to. I have three kids. I can't wait to see Chicago(芝加哥，理察的新音乐剧。). Were you nervous to do a musical after not doing one for so long?

　　(那么多年没有拍音乐剧了，拍这部音乐剧的时候你紧张么？)

　　RG: No, I wasn't nervous at all. That's not true. I was nervous about the tap dancing(踢踏舞).

　　RO: The singing part didn't scare you? (演唱的部分没有吓倒你么？)

　　RG: No, I still sing all of the time. I didn't realize it at the time, but Rob was really putting all of the actors and actresses through auditioning(导演罗波让所有的男女演员试听), and I'm not going to audition. I'm just not gonna. So we had a lunch. I said, "The singing isn't going to be a problem. I understand this character. The tap dancing-I don't know. So we'll see. I'll work hard on it. (演唱的部分不会成问题，我懂这个角色，但踢踏舞--我不会，我们看吧，我会在这上面下工夫的。)" And so I worked three, four months, all the way through shooting. One of the last things I did was the tap dancing(我最不愿意做的事情之一就是踢踏舞。).

　　RO: And that's a big tap number-a lot of？(那会踢踏很多次吧？)

　　RG: Yeah. For the first month you have to make a whole new nervous system from your brain to your feet that never existed before. You just want to kill yourself.sintosthe second and third month, it started to happen on its own. There is an interesting thing with muscle memory. If you repeat something 128 times, it's there and will always be there. But it has to be repeated 128 times. Then that's it-it's totally there.

　　RO: Wow, I didn't know that.

　　RG: Yeah, so anyhow that started to become fun. Like even when I was in the barn(马棚) with my horses, I'd start to do the routine while I was saddling up the horses, and I realized that this is actually okay now. It's starting to feel organic to me. And they shot it really well, so it looked great. They gave me a lot of help.
