1.guess: 猜，推测
用法：I guess that would be the answer. 我想这就是答案。
表达：(1) Guess who? 猜猜我是谁？

(3) My guess is that he is a scholar. 我敢肯定他是个学者。
(4)Age? Twenty-five to thirty at a guess. 年龄多大？我猜是在25-30岁之间。

2.lift: (v.) 提起，抬起，举起
辨析：put down 放下
用法：(1) lift a heavy refrigerator 把沉重的冰箱抬起来

表达：(1) lift a hand against 威胁某人或某事
(2) She's very peaceful. She wouldn't lift a hand against a fly.
