听到张旋要结婚的消息，我还真不敢相信。念书时，他睡在我上铺，记得那时，因为暗恋一位叫小曾的女孩，在人家生日的时候，他送了一束玫瑰时说“请接受我吧！”，本来就对他心仪已久的小曾激动得不行，可他却接着说了句“我爱你，Marica”,接下来脸上就挨了一巴掌…，原来他呼叫的Marica正是小曾的同桌！你说这么一个总是把事情搞砸(mess things up)的家伙现在居然要结婚了？！

　　对了片语mess up就是“弄糟，搞砸”的意思。Mess本来就有“混乱、杂乱”的意思，带上介词成为词组表示“把事情搞砸了”的意思，相当于make a mess of; put into disorder or confusion.看个例子：

　　Late arrival of the train messed up all our plans.

　　(火车误点，把我们的计划的全弄糟了。)

　　The pilots'strike messed up our holiday.

　　(飞行员的罢工打乱了我们的假日活动。)

　　这个片语用处很多，考试考砸了可以用，头发弄乱了也可以用，下次偶到类似的表达记得用一用哦！对了，记得大妮子在世博英语论坛里贴了一个叫“比尔.盖茨的11条准则”的贴子，里面就有一条包含着这么个短语。这里共享一下。

　　If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about our mistakes, learn from them.

　　(如果你陷入困境，那不是你父母的过错，所以不要尖声抱怨我们的错误，要从中吸取教训。)

　　张旋正在建设三峡水电站，居然还记得我这个身在四川的好友，是的，我们的友谊是经得起时间和空间的考验的(tried-and-true).

　　对了这里又有了一个片语tried-and-true，意思是“经得起时间考验的，经过试验证明是可靠的。”看看英文老师的解释：

　　If something is tried-and-true, it means that has been tried and tested and shown to be true, reliable or successful. For example ,if a cookbook has tried-and-true recipes, it means that the recipes in the cookbook have all been tried and proven to produce the delicious food .If a cure for illness is tried-and-true, then the cure has been tested and cured the people of the illness. A friendship is tried and true if the two of you have been through difficult times and ralationship ,yet have still been able to remain as friends.

　　老师讲得例子较多，我再举两个：

　　If the two of you treat each other sincerely, you'll have a friendship that's tried-and-true.

　　(如果你们彼此真心对待，你们就拥有经得住考验的友谊)

　　This is our tried-and-true method. We've done it many times and we know it works.

　　(这是我们经过证明的可靠的方法，我们已经做过许多次，并且知道行得通的。)

　　结束语：今天从市场上买来一条鱼，头一次做“酸菜鱼”，还请了朋友来品尝我的“杰作”，可是放盐太多，味道像酸水，我想我是搞砸了(mess it up),看来，下次请朋友吃饭，还是要做那些以前做过，证明是delicious才好啊(tried-and-true food)！
