　　On Friday 16th October, 1987, a hurricane struck the southeast of England.

　　◆注意◆如果是树上的果实介词用on，如果是鸟或其他东西在树上则用in。

　　5.as well as和，同

　　Mary is interested in music as well as theatre.

　　玛丽喜欢音乐，也喜欢戏剧。

　　◆注意◆as well as连接两个并列主语时，谓语动词与前一个主语的人称和数相一致。

　　6.bring down降低(物价、温度等)

　　The prices of petrol were brought down sharply.汽油的价格急剧降低。

　　反义词链接：bring up提高；increase增加；raise提高

　　7.help repair the damage帮助修复

　　help后面的不定式可以带to，也可以不带to。

　　8.get/be back/return to normal恢复正常

　　Everything was back to normal this morning.今天早上一切都恢复了正常。
