　　一、请求、允许和应答Requests,Permission and Replies

　　1.-Would you please remove your seat to the left a bit?

　　-Yes,of course.

　　2.-Do you mind if I leave a moment for some water?

　　-But the meeting is soon over.

　　3.-Could you excuse me while Iplay the song Yesterday Once More?

　　-Go ahead,please.

　　4.-I wonder if I can borrow your dictionary for a week?

　　-Sure./Certainly.

　　5.-Will you turn on the light?

　　-Okay.But where's the switch?

　　6.-I'd appreciate it very much if you could loan me a hundred dollars.

　　-I'm sorry.I've run out of money myself.

　　二、同意和不同意Agreement and Disagreement

　　7.-It's everyone's duty to keep our surroundings clean.

　　-You're quite right.

　　8.-Some people say smoking can make them relaxed.

　　-Maybe,but don't they know that it does great harm to health?

　　9.-Don't you think that they will offer greater opportunities to me?

　　-Yes.I think so.

　　10.-I think the highways are the only way to travel a long distance.

　　-I don't entirely agree with you.Sometimes I like to take it slowly along the minor road and see the countryside.

　　11.-Iwonder if you agree to improve recreation facilities(福利设施).

　　-I quite agree with you./I couldn't agree more.

　　12.-I think it's better to speak less.Silence is gold.

　　-I take your point./I'm with you on that./That's exactly what I think.

　　三、喜好与厌恶Likes and Dislikes

　　13.-Do you like /love to go outdoors for weekends?

　　-Yes,very much indeed.

　　14.-I enjoy watching romantic films.

　　-So do I.

　　15.-Are you fond of traveling?

　　-Yes,but it costs a lot.

　　16.-What's your favourite furniture?

　　-Old furniture made of wood.

　　17.-I am crazy about classical music.

　　-So it's good that I happen to have bought some yesterday.

　　18.-I don't care much for shopping.

　　-As a matter of fact,it's boring.

　　四、判断和意见Judgments and Opinions

　　19.-Where do you think the man comes from?

　　-Judging from his accent,he's probably from the Northwest.

　　20.-I don't think that money really talks.

　　-You're quite right./You're absolutely right.

　　21.-In my opinion /view,students should practise their knowledge in society.

　　-I think so.

　　22.-What do you think of Mr.Parker?

　　-To be honest/(quite)frank,I hate his being too proud.

　　23.-What do you think rain after such a long period of fine days?

　　-It may /might/must rain after such a long period of fine days.

　　24.-What's your opinion of our travel?

　　-My judgment is that it's dangerous to fly in this weather.

　　五、职责Obligations

　　25.-It's very kind of you to help me.

　　-Not at all.As a policeman,it's my duty to serve the people.

　　26.-You'd better have a rest;you seem to be very tired.

　　-Maybe,but I have to work to support my family.

　　27.-I still have a lot of difficulties in listening.

　　-In that case,you ought to /should /will have to spend more time in practicing it.

　　28.-Are we required to work out a plan for the project today?

　　-Yes,you must,I'm sorry to say.

　　29.-It's up to you to report the thief to the police.

　　-But is it necessary?

　　六、能力Abilities

　　30.-Are you able to write poems in English?

　　-Yes,I can,but not so well.

　　31.-Can you make an Internet web site for me?

　　-Sorry,I don't think I can，but I may have a try.

　　32.-Do you think you have the abilities to deal with the troublesome matter?

　　-Yes.I have experience of solving such troubles.

　　33.-Are you capable of designing a modern stadium?
