某些表示人体部位的名词也可以充当动词，虽然其用法不十分常见，但也值得加以重视，以丰富自己的描写手段和用词技巧。

　　1.head v.开往，向前进发(强调"勇敢、无畏")

　　eg：We are heading the north.

　　His name heads the list.

　　2.eye v.盯着看(强调"看得专注，持续的时间长")

　　eg：He eyed the girl with amusement.

　　I did it like the way he eyed me.

　　3.nose v.a)小心前进，试探性前进(形容"像狗一样用鼻子边嗅边走")

　　eg：He nosed his way through the crowd.

　　The bike nosed slowly through the narrow road.

　　b)寻找，仔细地找(强调"认真地利用一切信息去搜寻、寻找")

　　eg：Mary nosed through the thick book to find anything to her liking.

　　c)干预、打听(强调"试探性")

　　eg：She is always nosing into other people's business.

　　4.mouth v.做作地说话、以令人不快的方式说话

　　eg：She tired to impress by mouthing all his words.

　　An actor who mouths his words is a poor actor.

　　5.tongue v.用舌头顶住

　　eg：To make a trill，tongue the whistle as you blow.

　　6.ear v.(成语，主要指"听")

　　eg：Ear in and ear out.

　　7.arm v.武装起来、保护(多用于表示"寻找到对自己有利的东西或证据")

　　eg：He armed himself with a big stick.

　　There is so little crime that the police are not armed.

　　8.back v.a)支持、撑腰("有靠山、后盾之意")

　　eg：Can you back your story with facts？

　　Many of his friends backed his plan.

　　b)后退、往后移动

　　eg：The car backed through the gate.

　　The horse backed suddenly.

　　9.leg v.快走、快跑

　　eg：We legged home after the meeting.

　　10.toe v.按规矩办事、循规蹈矩(强调"小心、不越界")

　　eg：The new teacher will make Joe toe the line.

　　Tom's mother is strict with him and he was to toe the mark.
