　　Mr White works in an office. He liked reading in bed when he was young. It was bad for his eyes and now he has near sight(近视). He doesn't want anybody to know about this and never wears a pair of glasses. This often causes(给……带来)him problems.

　　One winter morning, he went to a school in a village on business. He got off the bus at a stop in a small town. Then he had to walk from there to the school.

　　There were a lot of holes on the road. He fell over a number of times and made his clothes dirty. It took him about one and a half hours to get to the village. When he got there, the winds suddenly began to blow and it got colder. He was looking for the school when his hat was blown off(吹掉). He began to run after it but he couldn't catch up it. He couldn't understand why his hat ran into a house as if it had legs. And he ran into the house, too.

　　A woman stopped him and shouted angrily,"What are you running after my hen for?"
