Listening Comprehension解析

　　2003年全国大学生英语竞赛(NECCS)决赛试卷和初赛试卷一样,是以大学英语教学大纲作为命题的理论基础,以全面测试考生的英语综合实用能力为指导思想。试卷的题目覆盖了听、说、读、写、译这五个方面的能力测试。决赛题题型中的主观题所占比例大于客观题。这充分体现大学英语教学改革的方向,并渗透了《高等学校教学质量与教学改革》的基本思路--由过去的以阅读理解为主向综合实用能力为主转变。这一决赛试卷从某种意义上讲,有大学英语教学和改革的导向作用。具体来说,决赛题总分150分,主、客观题比例为3:2,即主观题型(非选择题)为90分,客观题(选择题)为60分。试题选用的语言材料时代感强,交际性强,这与考查学生语言的综合实用能力的宗旨是一致的。下面对2003年全国大学生英语竞赛(NECCS)决赛试卷的试题逐一作简要的解析。

　　【试题综述】

　　对话部分因为题型熟悉,内容也比较简单,绝大部分同学不会感到困难,这10篇简短对话有两个突出的特点,一是话题广泛,涉及话语主题、人物态度、计划与行动等;二是所提问题比较深刻,有几个问题的答案不能从讲话者的话语中直接获得,只有充分理解了讲话者的言外之意才能得到正确答案。

　　【试题解析】

　　1. B。本题问说话人的态度。问女士对石油价格上涨的态度。抓住女士所说probably go bankrupt判断女士对其持否定的态度。但在听的过程中不要被If it doubled?在个短语迷惑而认为女士的态度是uncertain。这句并不表示女士的"不肯定的"态度,而是对此问题的认真考虑。

　　2. B。本题为行动计划题。虽然男士先后两次说话,但第一次是提供一个背景,关键是抓住第二句讲的haven't read them yet和planning on doing that 这两个关键的信息,就可以选对正确答案B。

　　3. B。本题的题材比较熟悉,是男士的行包超重,要收附加的服务费,男士问是否接受信用卡,女士告诉他可以用信用卡,但要在那边的柜台付费。问的是女士做了什么。这要在理解整个对话的基础上做出判断。实际上女士是在指点男士去那个柜台。选项A. She accepted the man's credit card.干扰性很大,要注意排除。

　　4. A。这也是一个行动计划题。只要抓住男士最后所说The travel agency will be closed.这一关键信息,我们就能判断出,他们是在计划一次旅行。

　　5. A。本题问的是行为。抓住对话中的关键信息bus fare to Central Station和it's gone up就可以判断出他们是在讨论bus fare。至于他们对话中所涉及的一些具体的票价,记不准确也不影响答对本题。

　　6. C。这是一道因果关系题。问"为什么男士没有把信寄出"。抓住男士所说I haven't had time.这一关键,就可以答对。

　　7. B。本题是推理判断题。这类题不能从对话中直接获得答案,要在理解对话的基础上通过推理判断得出正确答案。本题关键是要理解marked down75%的意思;另外,还要理解女士所说a great price是"好价钱"的意思,这样才能选推断出"帽子是减价出售"。选项B. It was on sale.是正确答案。

　　8. C。本题也需要进行推断。根据对话中出现的use your painting(使用你的绘画),hang your painting in an art show,以及gallery(画廊),我们就可以推断出女士所讨论的show,实际是一个"艺术展览"(an art exhibition)。

　　9. B。本题实际是问男士对新职位的态度。我们不能从对话中直接找到答案。解答本题的关键是正确理解男子所说I'd rather stay here.(我宁愿呆在这儿)的言外之意--他不愿去纽约,也就是说他不喜欢他的新职位,这样就能选出正确答案B. He doesn't like his new position.

　　10. B。本题问的是行为计划。女士问"医院里有花店吗?"她想为朋友买点什么。只要听懂了女士第一次说的内容,就能做对此题。至于后面男士的回答以及女士又问"它什么时间关门"在本题都是次要信息,听不清楚并不影响答题。
