　　Barney Field works for the Speedy Cab Company. He's a kind driver and knows the city well. Barney enjoys his work because he meets interesting people on the job. He's very friendly and always talks with his passengers(乘客). Sometimes he tells them interesting stories about his experiences(经历) as a taxi driver.

　　Barney takes good care of his car. He stops at Nick's garage every day, but he seldom buys any gas there. It's very hot this afternoon, and Nick is putting water in the radiator(水箱). One of his employees(雇员) is cleaning the windows and the other is putting air in the tires. Barney is drinking a cup of coffee and having a short talk with Nick.

　　"My garage is a long way from the center of town,"says　Nick."Why do you always bring your car here?""Because you're my friend,"　says Barney."And I never forget my friends."
