一些同学来信说，在直接引语变为间接引语的学习中，感觉对如何将疑问句变为间接引语感到迷惑，现就同学们的头疼问题分类讲解如下：

　　一、 直接引语是一般疑问句, 变成间接引语时要把一般疑问句变成由if 或 whether 引导的宾语从句，除注意人称、时态及状语等的变化外, 还要注意将一般疑问句的倒装语序变为陈述语序。另外，主句中的谓语动词是 say 时,要改为 ask；如果没有间接宾语, 可根据具体情况加 us 或 him, her, them 等作间接宾语。例如：

　　①Tom asked Mary, "Did John do any sightseeing there?"

　　→Tom asked Mary whether John had done any sightseeing there. 汤姆问玛丽约翰是否在那儿游览了什么地方。

　　②They said to him, "Has Li Ming finished his homework?"

　　→They asked him if Li Ming had finished his homework.他们问他李明是否把作业做完了。

　　二、 直接引语是选择疑问句，变成间接引语时,通常用 whether... or引导宾语从句。例如：

　　①He asked me, "Do you like English or Chinese?"

　　→He asked me whether I liked English or Chinese. 他问我喜欢英语还是汉语。

　　②He said, "Will you go home or stay here for the night?"

　　→He asked us whether we would go home or stay there for the night. 他问我们是回家还是留在那里过夜。

　　三、 直接引语是反意疑问句,变成间接引语时,引语前用 whether 或if 连接均可。例如：

　　①He asked, "You've read this book, haven't you?"

　　→He asked him whether / if he had read that book. 他问他是不是已经读过那本书了。

　　②He asked me, "George wasn't there that day, was he?"

　　→He asked me if George hadn't been there that day. 他问我那天乔治是不是不在那里。

　　四、直接引语是特殊疑问句，变成间接引语时, 用原句的疑问词作间接引语的引导词,原来的特殊疑问句的语序要变为陈述句的语序。 同样，要注意人称、时态及状语的变化。例如：

　　①"Where has Smith gone?" he asked.

　　→He asked me where Smith had gone. 他问我史密斯到哪里去了。

　　②He asked Mary, "Why are you late again?"

　　→He asked Mary why she was late again. 他问玛丽为什么又迟到了。
