1. be into 对……感兴趣；渴望(非正式用语，相当于be interested in)

　　He's given up photography, and he's into religion and music now. 他已放弃了摄影，现在对宗教和音乐感兴趣。

　　2. be fond of 喜欢；喜好

　　She is fond of maths and physics. 她爱好数学和物理。

　　3. all alone 单独；独自(其中的all用来加强语气, 该短语可作表语和状语)

　　He said he could do it all alone. 他说他能自己干。

　　4. treat...as... 把……当……来看待

　　They treated me as one of the family. 他们把我当家里人看待。

　　5. in total 总共

　　That will cost you $500 in total. 总共你要花500美元。

　　6. except for 除了；除去(表示前后指的两件事物不同类别或性质不同)

　　The room is empty except for a broken chair. 除了一张坏椅子外，屋里是空的。

　　We had a very pleasant time, except for the weather. 除了天公不作美外，我们过得很愉快。

　　7. come about发生；产生(不及物动词短语，不可用于被动语态)

　　Tell us how the traffic accident came about. 告诉我们这次交通事故是怎样发生的。

　　8. just as正如；恰似(as是连词，引导表示方式的状语从句)

　　She loves her teaching job just as her mother did. 她热爱教学工作，正像她妈妈过去一样。

　　just as后面也可跟表比较的从句，意思是"如同……一样"。

　　Just as you find it difficult to like Mr. Green, I find it easy to like his son. 如同你觉得格林先生难以讨人喜欢一样，我觉得他的儿子容易讨人喜欢。

　　9. end up with... 以……结束

　　She ended her letter with good wishes to her family. 在信尾她祝她全家好。

　　10. have... difficulty in doing sth. 在做某事方面有……困难(difficulty为不可数名词，意思是"困难; 费力"，可以用trouble替代。修饰词除了any 之外，还可以用no, some, little, much, great, a little等。在此句型中，介词in可以省略)

　　We had no difficulty / trouble (in) finding his house. 我们毫不费力就找到了他的家。

　　11. get away from (使)摆脱；(使)离开

　　Every winter people travel south in order to get away from cold weather. 每年冬天人们到南方去旅游是为了躲避严寒。

　　12. instead of代替；而不是

　　If you cannot go, he'll go instead of you. 如果你不能去, 他愿替你去。

　　We'll have tea in the garden instead of in the house. 我们将改在花园喝茶，而不是在屋里。

　　13. on the other hand 另一方面(用以引起与上文有所不同的意见或看法。它既可以单独使用, 也可以与on the one hand连用，表示"一方面……，另一方面")

　　I want to go to the party, but on the other hand I ought to study. 我想去参加聚会，但从另一方面来说，我应该学习。

　　14. as well as 和；又；也；除……之外(连接并列主语时，谓语应与前面的主语保持人称和数的一致)

　　Susan as well as her classmates is fond of playing volleyball. 苏珊还有她的同学都喜爱打排球。
