1. 分词或分词短语表示条件

　　①过去分词结构

　　Granted that you've made some progress, you should not be conceited. 即使你取得一些进步，你也不应该骄傲自满。

　　Provided that no objection is raised, we shall hold a meeting here. 只要没有人提出反对，我们就在这里开会。

　　②现在分词结构

　　Supposing he is absent, what shall we do?假如他缺席，我们该怎么办？

　　Assuming it rained, we would still go.就算下雨，我们仍会去的。

　　③独立主格的分词短语也可表示条件。

　　Weather permitting, they will go boating.如果天气允许的话，他们就要去划船。

　　All things considered, her paper is of greater value than yours.如果考虑到各方面因素的话，她的论文比你的更有价值。

　　2. 不定式短语表示条件

　　To look at him, you would think him a young man.如果你看到他，你就会认为他是个年轻人。

　　To be frank, your plan is not practical.坦率地说，你的计划并不切实可行。

　　3. 介词短语表示条件

　　But for your help they would not have fulfilled the task in time. 倘若没有你的帮助，他们就不能按时完成任务。

　　It may rain. In that case, we won't go. 可能要下雨。假如那样的话，我们就不去了。

　　In the event of fire, dial 119. 如遇火灾，拨打119。

　　4. 连接词表示条件

　　He worked as long as he could. 他尽可能干得长一些。

　　So that it is done, I don't care who does it. 只要事已做完，我不管是谁做的。

　　If I make a mistake, what are you going to do about it? 如果我犯了错，那么你打算怎么办呢？

　　Once lost (= If it were once lost ), it would be hard to find. 它一旦失去，就很难再找到。

　　5. 无动词结构if so, if not, if necessary, if any, if ever, if at all等表示条件

　　There are few, if any, such men. 这样的人，即使有的话也是很少。

　　If anything you ought to apologize. 你能做的只是道歉。

　　6. 命令句＋and句型；命令句＋or句型表示条件

　　Work hard, and you will succeed. 只要努力干，你就会成功。

　　Work hard, or you will fail.要努力干，否则你将会失败。

　　Hurry up, or (else) you'll be late. 快点, 否则你要迟到了。

　　用let开始的命令句也可表示条件。

　　Let's give him some help, and he will be able to improve his studies. 如果我们给他一些帮助，他就会改进他的学习。

　　7. 名词(或动词)＋and句型表示条件

　　One step further and you are lost. 再往前一步，你就要送命了。

　　Hesitate, and the chance is gone. 犹豫不决，机会就失掉了。

　　8. 某些谚语表示条件

　　Love me, love my dog. 爱屋及乌。

　　Easy come, easy go. 来得容易，去得快。

　　Out of sight, out of mind. 眼不见,心不烦。

　　Once bit, twice shy. 一朝被蛇咬，十年怕井绳。

　　Nothing ventured, nothing gained. 不入虎穴，焉得虎子。

　　9. 定语从句表示条件

　　Anybody who should do that would be laughed at. 任何人那样做，都会被人嘲笑。

　　Men become desperate for work, any work, which will help them to keep alive their families.人们极其迫切地要求工作，不管什么工作，只要它能维持一家人的生活就行。

　　10. 有时个别名词、形容词或副词也表示条件

　　Subject to your consent, I will try it again. 只要你同意，我就再试试。

　　Your refusal to come might give offence. 如果你不来，也许就会得罪人。

　　11. What if... ？表示条件

　　What if a storm should come up? 假如有暴风雨，那会有什么情况？

　　What if we could not get preparation done in time? 如果我们的准备工作没能及时做好，该怎么办呢？

　　12. must / have to...before...can(could)...表示条件

　　One must sow before one can reap. 有播种才会有收获。
