Under a new contract between the National Geographic Channel and the China International Television Corporation, the TV documentary Royal Palace will enter the international market. The original 12-episode documentary was produced by CCTV in 2003 to mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Palace Museum. The newly remixed version is a two-episode documentary 120 minutes in length, which was re-edited by National Geographic to be of greater interest to overseas viewers.
