6.Teachers' Day inMexico(墨西哥的教师节) I am from Mexico. I lived in a pretty town. In it we had a lotof traditions and one of these was Teacher's Day。 It is held on May 15. On Teacher's Day, the mayor gave all thecounty teacher's the day off. The holiday started with Mass. Masswas held in the cemetery of the church. After the Mass, all theteachers stood around a statue of a book. The mayor presided over aceremony for all the teachers who died and nobody knew. The holidaycontinued with a breakfast in a big cultural hall. The teachers atetheir food and at the same time they could hear a mariachi or aband. The next activity was friendly competition. It took place indifferent places around the city. The competition was inbasketball, football, soccer, volleyball and other events. Afterthat all the people took a break for approximately three hours. Atnight the party continued with a special dinner. While the peopleate, the superintendents (maybe four) raffled gifts. In the raffle,the teachers could win TVs, record players, etc. Thesuperintendents gave medals to the five or six older teachers.After that the loud music started and the people were ready todance.
