British actress and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador (联合国亲善大使) Emma Watson delivered a stirring (激动人心的) speech at U.N. headquarters last month advocating for equality at universities around the world.
英国女演员、联合国亲善大使艾玛·沃特森上月在联合国总部做了一场激动人心的演讲，倡导全世界大学里的男女平等。
Under the U.N. Women (联合国妇女署) campaign HeForShe that invites men and boys to fight for gender equality, U.N. Women released the first-ever HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 University Parity Report (《“他为她”影响力10x10x10大学男女平等报告》) at the 71st U.N. General Assembly (联合国大会). According to the report, gender equality is still a goal, but not a present reality, for university campuses around the world. In the report it identifies paths to progress in government, within corporations, and on university campuses.

艾玛沃特森In remarks introducing the report, Watson asserted that higher- learning institutions can serve as "catalysts (催化剂) for change." "We know that if you change students' experiences so that they have different expectations of the world around them—expectations of equality—society will change," said Watson, who graduated from Brown University. "As we leave home for the first time to study at the places that we have worked so hard to get, we must not see or experience double standards. We need to see equal respect, leadership and pay," she added.

Watson also said that the schools need to give priority to safety on campus and "make it clear that the safety of women, minorities, and anyone who may be vulnerable (易受伤害的) is a right and not a privilege—a right that will be respected by a community that believes and supports survivors, and that recognizes that when one person's safety is violated (侵犯), everyone feels their own safety is violated."
沃特森还说，学校应该将校园安全放在首位，而且“他们要弄清楚：保障妇女、少数民族和弱势群体的安全是一种权利而不是一种特权——这一权利将被全社会遵守。这样的社会是相信并支持幸存者的，且当其中一员的安全受到侵犯，其他人都会感觉到自己的安全受到了侵犯。”
