　　按照原句语序进行翻译便是顺译。然而，英汉两种语言的语序经常出现差异，翻译时需重新调整语序，包括词序与句序，尤其当英语出现后置及倒装情况时。倒译是语法上的需要。有时由于意思的需要也要将原文的叙述顺序颠倒。这种将原文叙述顺序进行前后调整的翻译技巧便是倒译。

　　参考译文 计算机能解决很多问题，做出成千上万个符合逻辑的决定，而不感到疲倦。

　　经典例题118 From a long_term perspective，Internet shopping is but a low_level aspect of the Net，and it is not likely to become the most important trend.

　　参考译文 从长远来看，网上购物仅仅是低层次的网络化，未必会成为最主要的趋向。

　　经典例题119 We are taking steps to prevent stream and air pollution.

　　参考译文 我们正采取措施防止河流和空气污染。

　　（2）倒译法

　　经典例题120 Every living thing has what scientists call a biological clock that controls behavior.

　　参考译文 每一种生物都有控制自己行为的时钟，科学家们称之为生物钟。

　　经典例题121 The moon is completely empty of water because the force of gravity on the moon is much less than on the earth.

　　参考译文 月球的引力比地球的引力小得多，所以月球上根本没有水。

　　经典例题122 That energy and mass are equal and interchangeable is known to every student of science.

　　参考译文 理科学生人人都懂得能量和质量是相等而且是可以互相转换的。
