Julia: Like my snazzy new mobile phone?
Sergio: Almost looks like my palm PC.
Julia: In fact, it's better. I can use it as a mobile phone or a web device.
Sergio: Cool.
Julia: It's wireless, pocket-sized, and has a built-in modem.
Sergio: But it must be difficult to input your password or download a video file.
Julia: The new model coming out will have more bandwidth. I just wanted to get connected now.
Sergio: This mobile commerce is radically changing the business of legacy firms. Before this, firms could adopt new technology. Now, because of cultural inertia, e-commerce is overturning traditional business models.
Julia: I like it. It's convenient to shop at the dot-coms. But is my money safe?
Sergio: The new technologies out there now are getting better and better. Security has become a big issue lately. I want to start an online company.
Julia: What would you sell?
Sergio: I don't know. I would probably sell fresh milk.
Julia: By the time you deliver, it wouldn't be fresh.
Sergio: Sure it would. I would drop the warehouse distribution system. Instead, I would use buses to deliver fresh milk to housing blocks.
Julia: Good luck finding venture capital.
Sergio: They will be lining up to give me money.
Julia: Right.
