　　从华盛顿邮报上读到一篇报道，让我想起了去年"9.11"事件后，一度在全球闹得沸沸扬扬的炭疽热，就此来聊一聊。

　　报道的是这样的：

　　The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has identified a scientist who once worked in an United States Government laboratory as a chief suspect in an anthrax attack that killed five people last year.

　　其中：the us Federal Bureau of Investigation是名声赫赫的FBI的全写，即美国联邦调查局；那么不由得想到令一个有名的情报机构是CIA：Central Intelligence Agency美国中央情报局。

　　然后看anthrax:这个词被评为2001年美国10大热门词语之一。它是来源于希腊单词，意思为煤，即coal.复数是anthraces。

　　Anthrax is a colorless, odorless, tasteless bacterium。If inhaled, anthrax spores can germinate and lead to infection within one to 60 days. This is pulmonary anthrax, which usually causes death.炭疽热是一种无色，无嗅，无味的细菌，如果被人体吸入，炭疽热的孢子会进行繁殖并且在60天内使人体其他部位得以传染。这种呼吸性炭疽热通常会导致死亡。

　　Since the "9.11"attack,anthrax becomes the world's first postal disease and terrorists' biological weapon of choice.自“9.11”事件后成为世界首例邮局病例和恐怖主义分子使用生物武器的选择之一。

　　谈过了炭疽热，让人又想到令一流行疾病“口蹄疫”，它的说法是:Foot-and-Mouth disease.

　　好了，回到报道来看意思就很明确了即是：美国联邦调查局已经确认了一名曾在美国政府实验室工作的科学家为在却年导致5人遇难的炭疽热袭击事件的首要嫌疑犯。
