　　(Matt and Jolene are on a field trip . Jolene calls to Matt in a tree.)

　　Jolene: Be careful up there!

　　Matt: I can hardly hear you! These cicadas are so noisy!

　　Jolene: Yeah, you can hear them everywhere ...What are you doing with the box?

　　Matt: I'm trying to find a male cicada. The males make the noise. I figure they'd make good pets.

　　Jolene: But Matt, adult cicadas live for only a few days.

　　Matt: Didn't our teacher say they can live for 17 years?

　　Jolene: Some can, but only in their young form. They live for years underground eating tree bits.
