　重点·难点·考点及疑点注释

　　1.unable to believe what ...是由“形容词+动词不定式”构成的短语，常用来表示原因。该句中unable to believe ...是伴随状语，表示stood there的伴随情况。

　　2.It's not safe to go outside until it's caught.

　　把它(狮子)抓到后外出才安全。

　　(1)该句第一个it为形式主语，真正的主语是动词不定式短语to go outside...。第二个it指的是狮子。

　　(2)not...until结构常译成“直到……才”、“在……之前不……”。

　　I didn't know he lived here until yesterday.

　　直到昨天我才知道他住在这里。(或：昨天之前，我还不知道他住在这里。)

　　3.warn意为“警告，告诫”，后接of短语表示“提醒某人注意……”、“告诫某人注意某事”，后接against短语相当于warn sb. not to do sth.表示“提醒某人提防……”或“告诫某人不要做某事”。

　　The father warned his son of fire.父亲提醒儿子注意火。

　　The doctor warned the patient against smoking.

　　The doctor warned the patient not to smoke.

　　医生告诫患者不要吸烟。

　　The dying horse struggled to its feet and gave a look to the master.
