本期我们来了解全国中学生英语能力竞赛试题中“听力部分”的“短文理解”试题。“短文理解”分A、B两组，试题有的是文字，有的是图画，有的二者兼有。我们以二者兼有的B组题为例进行分析。下面是2003年全国中学生英语能力竞赛(NEPCS)初赛中的“短文理解”的B组试题。我们就选其中的第26，27题来具体分析这类题的特点及答题要点。

　　B) 听录音，选择最佳选项完成问题。短文读两遍。

　　C. Peter is a bird.

　　D. Peter is Ann's dog.

　　27. Which is the house in the picture?

　　试题特点及答题要点： 通过观察得知，26题要求直接选择问题的答案，所以在听录音之前就要弄清楚问题问的是什么，听的时候要集中精力捕捉与试题内容有关的信息，抓住关键词或关键句。本题的关键句就是Where's Ann's dog, Peter? 只要听出这句话，答案自然而然就出来了。27题是根据问题选图画。我们要仔细观察四幅图之间的异同，在脑子里有个大致的印象，这样在听录音时就有了目标。本题主要考的是确定各个事物的位置。这就需要我们在听录音时把各事物的位置按号入座。

　　另外，“听力测试”虽然重点测试听的能力，但需要耳、眼、脑、手、心协同合作，听、读、说、写、译紧密配合。时间观念要强，读、写、思的速度要快，判断得要准，最后在答题纸上涂写还要细心、专心。
