1. There is a world of music out there! What we hear on the radio or see on TV is only a small part of all the wonderful music that is waiting for us. 音乐种类繁多，数也数不清。我们在收音机里听到的或在电视上看到的只是所有等待我们欣赏的美妙音乐中的一小部分。

　　[问] 第一句中的a world of是什么意思？第二个句子是什么结构？

　　[答] ①a world of意为“无数；大量；许多”。如：

　　The teacher's praise did me a world of good. 老师的表扬对我大有好处。

　　It makes a world of difference whether interviewees have a good knowledge of Chongqing history or not. 应聘者精不精通重庆历史是大不一样的。

　　②第二句是一个复合句，主语为What引导的主语从句，而表语中music又接了一个定语从句。当先行词被all, few, very, the first, only等词或形容词最高级修饰时，或是先行词中既有人又有物时，关系代词用that而不用which。

　　It was the largest map that I ever saw. 那是我所看见过的最大的地图。

　　2. Some people study better with music on. 有些人开着音乐学习效果更好。

　　[问] 句中on是什么词类？怎么翻译？

　　[答] 这里on是副词，意为“进行”，作with复合结构的宾语补足语。如：

　　She prefers to sleep with the light on.她喜欢开着灯睡觉。

　　With the production up by 10%, the boss was very satisfied. 产量增加了10%，老板十分满意。

　　3. Pop music makes people feel easy and forget about the real world; rock music makes people think about the world and how to make their life better. 流行乐令人松弛安心，忘记这真实的世界，而摇滚乐使人思虑这个世界，思考如何改善自己的生活。

　　[问] 句中feel easy and forget..., think about...better都作makes的宾语补足语。请小结一下能作make的宾语补足语的情况好吗？

　　[答] 学习最重要的就是要善于总结。现将make的复合宾语结构小结如下(并列出相关动词供同学们了解)：

　　①make+宾语+形容词

　　类似的动词有：find, consider, cut, get(使)，

　　keep, paint, think, feel等。如：

　　They work hard to make our country rich and strong. 他们为使我们的国家富强而努力工作。

　　Could you cut the apple open? 请你把这个苹果切开好吗？

　　②make+宾语+不定式(不带to)

　　类似的动词有：have, let, see, watch, hear, notice, observe等。如：

　　Mr Zhang made us put everything in the cupboards. 张先生让我们把所有东西都放到橱柜里。

　　No one saw her slip into the lab. 没有人看见她溜进了实验室。

　　③make+宾语+过去分词

　　类似的动词有：have, get, find, see, hear, watch, notice, observe, expect等。如：

　　We must make our policy known to the public. 我们必须让公众了解我们的政策。

　　He had to have the washing machine mended last night. 昨晚他被迫把洗衣机修好了。

　　④make + it+形容词+不定式(或从句)

　　在此句型中，it是形式宾语，形容词作make的宾语补足语，不定式(或从句)作其真正的宾语，类似的动词还有think, feel, find, believe, suppose等。如：

　　They make it clear to the public that they're doing a necessary job. 他们让公众明白他们正在做一件十分必要的工作。

　　He felt it impossible to reach home before dark. 他觉得天黑之前到家是不可能的。

　　No one felt it difficult for the Chinese to learn Chinese. 对中国人来说，没有人觉得学汉语困难。
