1. 他不满意他的作文。

　　[误] He didn't satisfy his composition.

　　[正] He was not satisfied with his composition.

　　[析]及物动词satisfy 的意义是“使……满意”、“符合……要求”，以物为主语时，用主动语态；以人作主语时，用be + 过去分词形式。例如：His answer satisfied us. / We were satisfied with his answer.

　　2. 总统希望你下星期去拜访他。

　　[误] The president desires you visiting him next week.

　　[正] The president desires you to visit him next week.

　　The president desires that you (should) visit him next week.

　　[析] desire后不接动名词，但可接不定式作宾语或宾语补足语，或接that 从句，从句谓语动词为should+动词原形或省略should。

　　3. 我们队赢了的消息很快传遍了校园。

　　[误] The news that our team won spreaded through the school very quickly.

　　[正] The news that our team won spread through the school very quickly.

　　[析] spread 的过去式和过去分词与动词原形一样。

　　4. 她将飞往佐治亚去看望她在那里的年老的家里人。

　　[误] She is flying to Georgia to see her old folk there.

　　[正] She is flying to Georgia to see her old folks there.

　　[析] folk当“家属、亲属、家里人”等解时，通常用复数形式 。作“人们”解时，也可用folks, 但不如people 常用。

　　5. 我兄弟爱好英国文学。

　　[误] My brother is interested in the English literature.

　　[正] My brother is interested in English literature.

　　[析] 在学科前不加定冠词。如：Chinese literature, mathematics等。

　　6. 地球上有各种各样的人。

　　[误] There is a wide variety of people on the earth.

　　[正] There are a wide variety of people on the earth.

　　[析] a variety of “形形色色的， 各种各样的”， of之后的名词是可数时，其名词要用复数，谓语也要用复数形式。

　　7. 你回家就会明白一切。

　　[误] As long as you go home, you will understand everything.

　　[正] If only you go home, you will understand everything.

　　[析] as long as有“只要……”之意，相当于while, 所引导的从句中的谓语动词往往是连系动词或表示延续动作的词。如：As long as you are a student, you must obey the school discipline. 如果从句表示比较短暂的动作动词，一般要用if only。
